As Dallas noted, it is only good for spinning otherwise.

If you want the uber rollers, you have to look at Kreitlers. I picked a set up a few years ago and love them (I replaced a set of tacx). I have the 2.25's so the resistance is decent. Aluminum drums.. beautiful.

I am in the same boat as Trev. I've seen some as low as 200. i don't want to spend more than 3 so it will be in that range. interested?Matt Mackayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15104681684520989649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054413092536573619.post-71579264744783124832009-10-16T06:45:35.433-07:002009-10-16T06:45:35.433-07:00Lockie, i DO need to get a cross bike. i've be...Lockie, i DO need to get a cross bike. i've been commuting everyday to work on my road bike and now the weather is getting rough. So needless to say, until i get a cross bike and some courage to ride my bike from tuscany to downtown everyday in below zero weather i think i will have to stick with the rollers and trainer. I missed out on the spin classes this year and i have other commitments on the second set days of the week. My plan is to alternate between a regular trainer and the rollers to get a good overall winter in my legs.Matt Mackayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15104681684520989649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054413092536573619.post-12456047492115764692009-10-15T23:51:10.202-07:002009-10-15T23:51:10.202-07:00Matt, I suggest you get a cross bike and a pair of...Matt, I suggest you get a cross bike and a pair of cross country skis. ;) I'm kinda kidding, kinda serious...don't want you burning out on us in the middle of next season!

Keep us posted on what you do. I'm thinking I might invest in rollers myself, and 90% of what I know comes from Dallas' comment. But probably closer to December.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06643321397634823700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054413092536573619.post-74132590563794913742009-10-15T14:25:39.456-07:002009-10-15T14:25:39.456-07:00hey Marilyn, ya I'd sell it to you if your int...hey Marilyn, ya I'd sell it to you if your interested. I bought it last year from bow cycle for 350 so its pretty much new. I want to be able to get a set of rollers so i don't think i'd part with it for any less than 300 given its condition. I think i still have the box and i also have the DVD that comes with it.Matt Mackayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15104681684520989649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054413092536573619.post-1943459900661447022009-10-15T11:34:22.872-07:002009-10-15T11:34:22.872-07:00Matt, Would you be interested in selling one of yo...Matt, Would you be interested in selling one of your trainers? I'm still going to use the other trainer, i just want to work on my "dysfunctional lateral Stability" hence i want to be dead straight and work on my balance a bit as well. Plus i think it will be a little more interesting than a regular trainer. I'll check out that set. thanks DallasMatt Mackayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15104681684520989649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054413092536573619.post-9778291389895107272009-10-15T09:15:42.620-07:002009-10-15T09:15:42.620-07:00Now I feel weak and puny for never needing spare b...Now I feel weak and puny for never needing spare belts :(

Matt, Dallas makes good suggestions.

TrevTrevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08667282748460045123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054413092536573619.post-86931636805608848472009-10-15T09:12:32.481-07:002009-10-15T09:12:32.481-07:00I have the TACX rollers, with the small tubes, ( d...I have the TACX rollers, with the small tubes, ( don't get the oversized ones). But also you should get the attachment for resistance, it's basically an additional resistor that runs via belt to the main belt drive, then has a cable thing unit to your bars. All that will run you about 275$ new. Still way cheaper than a medium range Trainer.
And buy spare belts too.

If you don't get the resistance unit, you will basically spin your brains out with little to no Power resistance at all, even in biggest ring. I mean it's good for cardio and balance< but that's it. I remember barely doing 250 watts at 120 rpm, when I maxed mine out.

get the resistance unit.Dallashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15964887918573345317noreply@blogger.com
