So the First of this years UCC's was demolished by 10 fearless riders. We won't post results. Mostly because it is yet to be determined how much beer Vince actually drank and whether or not we need a bio passport from Mark... Plus Trev talks too much.
The Coors Bismark Course is alive and well and making mince meat of all of our hearts.
Let's do it again very soon. But not too soon because I need to "secret train."
The heckling was at a minimum, because lets face it.... Jamie and Krista are just too damn nice.
Next UCC coming up right 'round the holidays to make sure you are keeping it real.
UCC = Underground World Cycling Championships of the World (Kinda like fight club but with a little less blood and money.) But really way more fun and too many post event calories to count.
Thank you beer and pizza for making me need to train more and more....
Also new mandatory UGG Boots post race for fashion KUDOS

Sunday Fun Ride with Beers and Cheers
This Sunday, 17th the Doctrine is hosting this winter's first STC indoor ride and informal meeting in the Engine Room computrainer studio (Located in Speed Theory.)
We are hoping to have a 20km TT heat at 4:30 and then post ride pizza and beer with a quick meeting about the STC team and opportunities for the 2020 season.
While in the past we have had a definite "road bike, ABA race focus," we are hoping to expand the horizons of what our club does and how we contribute to the cycling scene both locally and beyond as well as opportunities for youth.
Even if all you want to do is come out and have a beer and heckle the riders, it would be great to see you! As always, kids and partners welcome. We'll have drinks for all ages (unless you're expecting a Capri-Sun... then you're gonna be disappointed.)
RSVP in advance so we know how much pizza to order and bring your bike with a trainer skewer!
email Marie (marie@thedoctrine.ca) or Trev (trev@thedoctrine.ca)
texts work too

Dark Knight is a hell of a good time....
This Saturday is an annual favorite and just reading the Tech guide reminds me of the glorious chaos of years past. After a summer of re-configuring and assessing the path we'd like to take with the team, Dark Knight is a fine example. Show up and dress up. If you don't know what cross racing is, don't worry about it. You'll figure it out. Mountain bikes allowed.
If all you have is a road bike, then register your kids in the Robin's race. Just come out and be part of the chaos. Definitely wear a costume, bring glowsticks and be prepared to cheer hard.
We are re-starting the club this winter with the intent of first and foremost having fun, supporting a lifestyle that involves the whole family and supports local races with cool vibes. ABA points are not our priority, but doing epic sh!t is. So lets aim for the best stories to tell when we host our indoor cycling nights (yes they are races and no we don't care how you place.)
See you at Dark Knight (and possibly Cadence Cross the next day.)
Our first indoor ride and beer night will be Saturday Nov 17th at 6pm. Lets do our classic 20km TT on the trainers in the Engine Room (at Speed Theory) We'll play a movie in another room for the kids and provide the post sufferfest pizza and beer. Comment here to register so we know you're in.
We are adding Fat bike rides for special occasions and the odd mountain bike event so stay tuned for more info on that!

2019 Spring and Summer are coming? Are they? Please please please? Come soon!
Team... STC is still alive and well. A few of us have just been busy with family and work and haven't been able to post here regularly. We're all looking forward to emerging from this deep freeze and getting outside. Even Fatbiking this past two months has been off the table except for the most hard core.
This year, for all past STC club members, your membership to the club will be free. You still need to register with the ABA for a General or Race licence, but we'll pay your insurance.
Follow this link to register for the club. Use the pass-code: PASTMEMBER and it will take 100% off your membership.
Marie will post here soon about a few Fri or Sat evening parties in the studio like we had last year. Those were fun. We may try to get VeloCafe or Peloton over for an interclub event since we have Stephan from Peloton and we think VeloCafe is simply cool for Calgary cycling.
Anyway.. look here a little more often and hopefully the next thing you see will be Marie posting the date of a party.
See a lot of you soon!
