Mt. Norquay Hill Climb: Road Racing Isn't Over...

Contrary to what some have been implying on this blog, the road racing season isn't over yet! There's a little climb up the Mt. Norquay access road on September 13. For those of us on the, um, lighter end of the weight scale, this is our chance to shine.

Note: This race has a entry limit of 100 racers. Be sure to sign up early. Or, if you wish to have a convenient excuse to avoid suffering, wait until the last minute and the race might be full...

You Go Darcy! Train like hell!
I'm thinking about taking up smoking and going on the North American Pie Eating Contest circuit.

In an attempt to redeem myself for my pathetic 103 km TT in Crossfield I am now on a crash weight-loss programme. The sufferring might be profound, but at least it will be relatively short-lived.

Tom,

I'm in. I'll get the circuit schedule. You bring the smokes. Get cartons. We'll save money that way and then we can spend more money on booze. Mark Shand, you in?

Mark can't come to the computer right now, he's too busy smoking, drinking and hooking up with chicks!

i will also be there. I would also like to do a ride after all the rewards and stuff, mabye ride north on the 1A. Nothing big, just a nice ride in the rockies while i'm there. Last year there was about 10 of us that went.

I can't speak for others, but I'd like to relax on a patio in Banff after this one. Anyone else?

Last year while racing I figured I was going about as fast as my daughter could run up it. So this year we are going to race. Me on my bike, her in your sandals.

I'm in for a beer on the patio after the hill climb Darcy.

I think I'm going to bring the bathroom scale. Maybe we can weigh in Darcy and Rob Woolley pre-race and make some beer bets on who will win it this year. Last year it was Darcy, Rob 1-2 but I'm not making any predictions yet.

Carl,

Based on results from the HC at Banff Bike Fest, I'm looking out for Darren Nielsen. He was 3rd, I was 4th, and the two guys above him have cat'd up. Also, I think Rob W has been saving it for this race all year.

I'll be up for some beers on the patio before the hill climb as well.

I don't want to shock anyone with the idea that I am entering a hill climb. Thought I am going to come out an cheer you guys up.

And Trev if I can get in on that race with your daughter that would be awesome, though I still expect to come last.
