Well, the 'tailwind' part didn't turn out at all, but the race went ahead as planned and 5 dudes took to the start line ready to dig deep and rely on that suitcase of courage to get them to the finish.
With a decent downhill to start things off, the hard headwind was tolerable, however, with the last 2km a shallow acent, the gears seemed to keep clicking up and up?!?!
Results (8km):
Mike Healy................12:18
Steve German............11:47
Alex Shaw.................11:34
Frank Woolstencroft....11:32
Trev Williams.............10:32
To give you an idea, here ar ethe LAST three riders in the Tour's times:
187 Wim Vansevenant (Bel) Predictor - Lotto................10:22
188 Danilo Napolitano (Ita) Lampre - Fondital................10:23
189 Ruben Lobato Elvira (Spa) Saunier Duval - Prodir.......10:41
No shows included Carl and Kirk who swore they would be there, and Jared and Gary.
Super fun, too bad the turn out was lackluster.

That is so cool that you beat Ruben Lobato Elvira! In addition to being a great sandwich name, she is one of my favorite recovering alcoholic athletes!
Sorry I missed the festivities, my cruiser bike was just too heavy to lift into my truck.

Sorry Guys,
My daughter wanted pancakes this morning and that face just wouldn't allow me to go through the door and get on my bike.
Looks like it was a good time had by all. I thought someone would at least beat the 9:00 mark!
