2 Road races in Edmonton this weekend. Coaching for newbie's being offered!!!

Sarah and I will be out supporting ST colors at these spring series road races in Edmonton this weekend. Both are similar to the Prairie Roubaix without gravel. You do not need an ABA race license as they are none sanctioned. Both Races are posted on the events page on the ABA's main web site. If anyone is thinking of trying their first race this year these would perfect. These will be Sarah's first races. The race season is here and now is the time to have loads of fun!!! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Harley 403-880-7695

Not sure if I can make Saturday but I'm seriously considering driving up for the Sunday race. It will be my first race as well.

I can make it on Saturday, but not Sunday. Anyone car pooling or want to share?

I'm torn between this and the TT on Sunday. As I've never raced I'm leaning towards the TT to get a measure of where my fitness is at.

I'll probably decide tonight after heckling some more experienced riders (Harley, Darcy?) for advice at the skills night.

I'm worried about my group riding skills and don't want to piss people off at the road race...

These are perfect races to start with. All clubs in AB try to get the newbie’s out to these races for experience. I can go over any questions before the race and a recap after the race with anyone who wishes. We can also pre ride the loop once and talk about the course and the race.
The ITT is very well organized, will be well attended making it a good race as well. The difference is you will not gain any group riding experience.
I’ll make all newbie’s a deal….if 5 show up to do a race, Saturday and/or Sundays, I will pull out of my race, ride and coach all of you in your race.

It'd be great to have all you guys come up to Edmonton with us! And let's not forget Harley's deal, can't pass that up. Meghan, I hear you about the whole group riding thing but the only way to get better is to get out there and do it! plus it would be nice having another girl to feel the fear with :)

I'm trying to convince my brother to come out on Sunday as well. He's with the Mud, Sweat and Gears club, but they haven't started riding yet so he'll be out there alone. Any objections to him hanging with us? Harley, I wouldn't expect him to count to towards the five. Great offer btw!

Such a generous offer Harley! And Sarah, you're right... alright I'm in! My arm is twistable.

I can only do Sunday though, I'll likely be driving out and back that day.

Gulp!
:)

Hey folks! I was tempted to go, but I'm going to stick around here and do the TT on Sunday to test out the TT bike before Velocity. Take advantage of of Harley's deal, though!
