Trev,

Is pushing back the start time an option? Might buy you some time in the morning...

That sucks Trev... but whatever the call we're there for ya.

Stupid weather... and I was hoping to lay it down with my new disc. Let's hope it's a go!

What about doing it another day? I want to race but dont want to race in the snow my first go either....

Crankmasters have a club 20km ITT scheduled for next weekend in Airdrie. If you were able to get the Ring Road route again next Sunday I bet we could be talked into combining our club event with this race and helping out with volunteers.

Tough call.. But I trust and support your decision!

I hope it's a go :)

I've just finished shaving my legs. Which, as I type, sounds wierder than it should considering it's a time trial and crashing would be a huge embarrasment.

With that said, I am undaunted.
I will place this time if only because the field is smaller. So all you Cat 5ers stay home, lounge about eating croisant and bacon while I take first place with a time of one hour-thirty minutes.
So sleep in, don't worry about me riding in the rain. you don't need those points do you?

See you in the morning!

Good call, Trev! If we all wear yellow lenses it will look great no matter what the weather is doing :)

Looks like I will take the para category, good thing I can't feel my legs :)

Hey Trev (or anyone who might know),

What time are we supposed to be there for volunteering? I was thinking I would show up at 9:30-10:00. If you need me there earlier to help set up just message me here in the morning. Im sure you told me what time to be there but I forgot.

Trev said...

All volunteers can show up 2 hours later than what they were planning.

Rui, 9:30 is great.

Hey Trev, if you fall short of some volunteers tomorrow give me a call @ 547-7233 any time and i will fill in. This weather sucks, but i think your call to push back the start time was an excellent idea, good job !!!!!

I have never wanted it to start raining so badly, because then at least it would not be snowing.

Thanks for starting me earlier! Unfortunately with the 2 hour push back I'll not be able to race today. I hope ST can give me a credit for the next ST race. I'll come out this morning to lend a hand setting up.

I think it was the right decision though to post pone the start due to weather.

It is still snowing and I do not want to bail in the snow being inexperienced, and I live out of town so need notice to get in to the race, not sure if it is still going ahead???

I was just outside. To the east it is "less gray". Not clearing, not sunny, just "less gray"...

Unfortunately due to my 1 1/2 commute to the race start I wont be able to make it now...urgh....

Thanks to all the Speed Theory folks for a great event. I loved the course and the weather was pure Calgary, with a little bit of everything. Munching on a burger and cookies at the end was a treat too.

Thanks for a great race guys.
Very well organized and awesome course.

Even the weather played into the "COOLNESS" factor of this event!

It was a great event! It's no one's fault but mine that I can't do math! Actually, I "pulled out early" because Clarke was absolutely killing me...

Great day, terrific course, well done to everybody envolved. Thanks for not cancelling this great event.

Awesome event!! Thanks for all of the planning, and great work on the part of the volunteers.

Those are just excuses Darcy, after I passed you I was dead set on not letting you catch up again since I wasn't sure how much I had left in the tank. I'm sure you'll show me at the Banff HC, if I show up that is.

As an aside, time trials suck because they aren't surgy enough. Just kidding, I just need to work on the steady pace of these things.

Thanks again!

Huge kudos to Trevor, and the rest of the Speed theory team, I can only begin to imagine how much work you guys put into The Race, and I wanted to tell you, it’s wonderful to see how much good you've done for the cycling community by making it all-inclusive to para-athlete , licensed & non licensed cyclists, You should be very proud of your hard work and efforts. If more people gave back just a fraction of what you're doing, the world would be a better place!!

Clap---CLap---CLAp---CLAP--CLAP-CLAP-CLAP.

This is my way of starting the thunderous applause that everyone involved in today's event deserves.

Thanks for putting together an event I am sure will be talked about for years.

Highlight for me was riding through the hailstorm and looking down to see it scattering off of my trispoke as it bounced along the highway with the sidewind. Also watching three guys coming towards me leaning way over on the sides... looked pretty intense like the photos from windy days riding the out and back to Hawi. Oh wait, this is supposed to be a cycling blog and not a triathlon blog.

Great day though, really fun times. My Dad (the one with the bike racks on his steel touring bike) had a great first TT of his life. Thanks for making this accessible to the public!
